Read on to learn more about her background and education.

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Iacovoni decided to become a dentist because she wanted to help people become healthier starting at the mouth, which is the beginning of the digestive system. Her background in nutrition was what jumpstarted her passion for dentistry, as she remembers her nutrition professor in her undergraduate studies lecture on healthy eating habits and cooking. The problem that was raised was: what about people who have no teeth or experience tooth infections? These individuals wouldn’t be able to eat properly or gain the nutrients they need. To help people achieve nutritional health, she chose to pursue dentistry, and the rest is history.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Iacovoni studied at La Salle University in Philadelphia for her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition. She later went on to study at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine in South Jordan, where she achieved her dental doctorate. She’s also completed numerous hours of continuing education in digital dentistry, 3D scanners, and streamlining the dental experience. She is even a proud and active member of several professional organizations, such as the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • New Jersey Dental Association
  • Southern Dental Society

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Away from dentistry, Dr. Iacovoni lives with her husband, and they both enjoy renovating their house to make it their dream home. She loves being by the water, going on beach trips, boating, and sitting by the lake in her neighborhood. She grew a love for hiking and the outdoors after living in Utah during dental school training. One of her hobbies is cooking and baking new recipes—one of her favorite baking recipes is Lemon Blueberry Pound cake (dairy-free). One fun fact about her is that she’s left-handed, which can sometimes be challenging in a right-handed world.
