Advances in ceramic technology that enabled the creation of lifelike, durable, very thin porcelain veneers that can be bonded to teeth has revolutionized cosmetic dentistry. Today’s veneers can be made as thin as 0.2 mm. That is about the thickness of a fingernail. When they are attached to a tooth, they create a new surface that can have a lighter color, better shape, and improved alignment that the tooth they cover. We can create a new smile that can look as perfect or as natural as you might desire. The only tooth structure that needs to be prepared is that which gets in the way of the new smile. In other words, if a tooth sticks out, it must be reshaped so that when the veneer is attached, it will be in line with the other teeth. If there are spaces or small teeth, tooth preparation can often be very little or none.
The effect that a new smile can have on a person’s self image, confidence and self esteem is dramatic. See our testimonials for some comments our patients have made.
